Children progress from the Foundation Stage by joining Year One in Key Stage One. Key Stage One consists of three classes. The transition from Early Years to Key Stage One is a smooth and well organised process, so when children begin Year 1 their teachers know exactly how to challenge and develop their learning. Reading, Writing and Mathematics form the main focus of the curriculum and have daily focussed lessons.
However, through exciting topics such as; Travel and Transport, Here, there and everywhere and Arctic Adventures. The children study a variety of curriculum areas including; Science, Art, Design and Technology, RE, Music, History, Geography and ICT in a way that is challenging and motivating. Children also have daily Phonics lessons and with P.E. once a week, our children are fully engaged during their school day!
