From September 2021, Bevington Primary School will start our provision for 2 year olds. We love how well children in our 3-4 year old provision learn and thrive so we look forward to building this love for learning at an even earlier stage in their lives.

Our 2-3 year old provision will:

  • Be a nurturing and creative environment in which children will grow and flourish.
  • Be based in our purpose-designed room within the brand new Bevington Centre.
  • Provide access to other key parts of the school, including our sensory and soft play room, as well as our large play areas.
  • Provide part-time sessions for up to 16 children.
  • Provide a guaranteed place in Nutmeg Class (3-4 year old nursery) from the September before your child turns 4.

Admissions for 2-3 Provision

Our main intake will be in September and priority will be given to children who turn 3 between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022. If your child is younger than this, you are still welcome to make an application as they could be eligible to start in the term after their 2nd birthday, depending on the availability of spaces at the time. Frequently Asked Questions

I am self-funding a place, can I need to send my child for 5 sessions per week?

We would like our pupils to develop a good routine and habits that will prepare them for school life so our preference is that they attend the setting daily.

Can I use the 15 hours over 2 and a half days instead?

We are offering morning or afternoon sessions only at this stage, as we wish to prepare children for attending school each day. We believe that this is the best way to help them form relationships with their peers and key workers, as well as getting them into a good routine.

I will be self-funding a place for my child. Will I need to pay fees for the whole school year?

You will only be required to pay fees to cover up to the end of the term in which your child turns 3. After this, your child will receive 15 hours a week free under the universal offer.

I am not eligible for a local authority funded place. Can my child start in the term after they turn 3 when provision will be free?

Priority will be given to those who wish to start in September. You are still welcome to apply and be added to our waiting list, should a place become available later on in the school year.

I wish to send my child full-time. Is this an option?

We will be offering part-time provision only, initially. You will be notified if this changes.

I have a ‘Busy 2’ ticket for a different setting but I wish to transfer to Bevington. Do I need to re-apply for the local authority funding?

No- once you have notified your current setting of your intention to leave, you can contact 2YearOldOffer@rbkc.gov.uk and your ticket can be transferred.

Will my child transfer over to the main nursery (Nutmeg Class) once they turn 3?

No- the new provision is ultimately for children who will turn 3 between 1 September 2021- 31 August 2022. Nutmeg will continue to be just for children who turn 4 in that academic year.

Will my child need to wear uniform?

No- uniform won’t be required until they transfer to Nutmeg Class.

Will there be opportunities to visit the new provision?

We will be offering socially distanced visits in the summer term (Covid regulations permitting). Please call school to arrange a visit. Once your child has been offered a place, you will also have the chance to meet with your child’s care worker, ahead of their starting date. We will contact you about this nearer the time.
