We know all the children at Bevington have amazing talents and abilities so when they asked for a talent competition and we were only too happy to agree. The process will be arranged and coordinated by our year 6 pupils and auditions are next week on the 1st and 2nd December. The finals will be held in January with mystery prizes for the winners. We are really looking forward to seeing all the acts and celebrating everyone’s gifts. More information to follow.
Thank you to all the parents who came in over the last two weeks to see how we teach guided reading in year 1 and 2. It was fantastic to see so many parents in school and we know that it will help the children so much in improving their reading at this crucial stage of their development. If you were unable to make the sessions or would like ay additional information please see Miss Stanislaus or Mr Adams who will be happy to help.
A big thank you to all the children who helped us raise £150 for Children in Need today and for all taking part in our friendship afternoon with such enthusiasm. A special thank you to year 6 who helped all of the younger children in their groups and made sure that everyone from Nursery up was fully included. We will have more opportunities to work and learn together every term from now on.
As you know Year 6 go to the Rhythm Studio every week as part of their music curriculum and they have emailed us this message which is fantastic. Well done Year 6!
“My colleague and I were meaning to email you last week but have only just been reminded when your students came in this afternoon!
We both work in Kensington and Chelsea College in reception and see your students come in every week as they are going up to the Rhythm Studio. We would just like to say how fantastic and polite every single student is. They all seem like such a happy bunch as they’re always smiling and waving whilst coming into the College, it really does make a positive impact on everyone!”

We had a fantastic turnout for the launch of the bistro last night and thanks again to the Mayor and Josh from Boom Burger for coming into help us make the event even more special. We will be reminding the children about healthy lifestyles and good table manners all the time from now on and we look forward to parents doing the same. If you would like any information to use at home please see Miss Rogers.
We are also looking forward to receiving the design a menu competition entries so please return them to your class teachers.
Thank you to all the PTFA members and Mr Smith who worked so hard to make last night’s cinema evening so successful and thank you to all the families who attended. We made over £200 profit from the evening which will go towards school resources.
Thanks to all the parents who attended Birch class assembly today where we learnt a lot about how to beat bullies. The children had lots of different ideas about what to do and who might help you if you were in this situation and they finished off with a lovely rendition of a Bruno Mars song about friendship. We are working hard to make sure the children have every opportunity they need to tell an adult if they are worried about anything in school and have put up new post boxes around the building that they can use to write to us as well as tell us.
We will all be coming in our own clothes on Friday to raise money for the charity Children in Need. We are asking for a 50p donation from each child to go towards this good cause. In the afternoon we will all be spending time in our mixed groups getting to know children in other year groups better as part of our learning about the value of friendship to round off the week.
