On Friday 16th September all of the children held class Eid parties to celebrate together. They shared food that families kindly donated and learnt about different aspects of Eid and what is means as part of our RE curriculum. This was organised at very short notice because of its proximity to the summer holidays so we would just like to thank families for rallying round to make it such a success.
The children all look incredibly smart in their new ties in years 1-6. We have heard from them how they have been practising at home using YouTube videos for guidance! Uniform is now available on line and blazers can be collected from the school office. Please ask us if you have any queries and thank you for insuring that the children all look so smart!
Thank you to all the parents who came to our meet the teacher session after school on Tuesday. We know that this is a valuable home/ school link and is part of our strategy to improve communication even further this year. We sent home booklets with all the children whose parents were unable to make it on this occasion so please ask the office if you have not yet received a copy.
This Tuesday we celebrated the 100th birthday of one of our favourite authors. Children and adults all came to school dressed as their favourite characters from his books so the place was filled with Twits, Charlie Buckets and even the occasional Willy Wonka! The children were able to take part in lots of activities through the day and learn new things about Roald’s life and his background.
