The Board of Governors meets every half term. All members of the board attend the half termly meeting. Each member of the board has a main area of responsibility. The Board Meetings throughout the academic year have three main foci: whole school strategy, the curriculum and school standards, and finance and general purposes.
Curriculum and Standards
The Curriculum and Standards Governors are responsible for monitoring the curriculum, teaching and pupil achievement. This includes assessing progress against the School Improvement Plan and reviewing test results. The Governors also have responsibility for monitoring Safeguarding and SEND provision.
Finance and General Purposes
The Finance and General Purposes Governors are responsible for ensuring the financial probity of the school, monitoring the budget and accounts and ensuring internal and external requirements are adhered to. The Governors have responsibility for the school’s Human Resources and performance management framework, ensuring that systems are robust and in line with legislation and safer recruitment practices. The Governors also oversee site and premises management and Health and Safety.
