Mind Up at Bevington

We are incredibly proud to say that we are a Mind Up School and that we have really been enjoying adopting a Mind Up approach to all we do at Bevington. Mind Up is a charity that was created by the well-known actress Goldie Hawn back in 2001. Since then the organisation has helped millions of young people to adopt a mental health and emotional well-being approach to all they do. Since beginning Mind Up at Bevington, the pupils have understood the importance and value of ‘Brain Breaks’, which we now do three times a day. In addition to this the pupils have been learning about their brain and how it functions, with particular focus on three parts: the prefrontal cortex (PFC), the hippocampus and the amygdala. We can’t wait to continue learning more about our brains and the Mind Up programme in second half of the Autumn term.
