What a wonderful experience both Year 6 classes had this week at Kew Gardens. The pupils got to experience what it feels like to be in the rainforest when they entered the Palm House. The humid temperature in here replicated what the climate is like in the rainforest and certainly helped to warm us up from the cold British winter outside. While inside both the Palm House and Temperate House, the pupils undertook a picture quiz about the flora of the rainforest. Mr Smith and Mr Collett soon realised how many buddy botanists we have in Year 6! Our final destination of the day took us to the tree top walkway, where the pupils got over their fear of heights and climbed the staircase to the top to experience what it would be like in the emergent layer of the rainforest.
Thank you again to the parents who assisted us on the trip, we hoe you enjoyed it and we certainly couldn’t have done it without you. Check out our Twitter page @BevingtonRBKC for pictures of the trip.
