Donations, Fundraising and The Bevington Trust
The Bevington Trust
Charity Number: 1179713
The Bevington Trust is a registered charity set up to safeguard and enhance the education of all children at Bevington Primary School. It exists to bridge the gap between the government funding we receive and the real cost of delivering the high-quality, Knowledge Rich Curriculum and exceptional opportunities our pupils deserve.
Like many schools across the country, we are facing unprecedented financial pressures. Over the coming years, our annual budget is projected to be reduced by almost £100,000 – the equivalent of £347 per pupil. These cuts come at a time when the expectations on schools, and the range of needs we serve, are greater than ever.
Despite these challenges, we are determined to ensure that the quality of education at Bevington is not compromised. Our curriculum is designed to give every child the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to become confident, articulate and successful learners. The Bevington Trust enables us to protect and enhance this offer for all pupils.
How The Bevington Trust works?
The Trust raises and manages funds for Bevington Primary School, working in partnership with our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA sits within the Trust and organises community events, sponsorships, and fundraising activities that both bring people together and support the school financially.
All funds raised by the Bevington Trust are transferred to the school and used to support agreed priorities that have the greatest impact on our pupils. These priorities are shaped by the needs of children now and the school’s long-term vision for success.
Current Fundraising Priorities
Love of Reading Project – £20,000
Reading is at the heart of our Knowledge Rich Curriculum. With 63% of our pupils speaking English as an additional language, reading plays a central role in language development, confidence and academic success. This project will expand our library collections, update phonics resources, and refresh class reading sets to ensure every child has access to high-quality, engaging literature that inspires a lifelong love of reading.
Playground Development – £10,000
Our playground is an important extension of the classroom, offering children a safe and stimulating environment in which to play, explore, and learn. This project will enhance play equipment, improve outdoor learning spaces, and create opportunities for physical activity, social interaction, and imaginative play.
Classroom Resources to Enhance the Foundation Curriculum – £8,000
Our Foundation Curriculum covers a wide range of subjects beyond English and Maths – from history and geography to art, design, and technology. This project will provide new, high-quality resources to bring these subjects to life, deepen pupils’ knowledge, and strengthen cross-curricular links that make learning meaningful and memorable.

FAQs
Is the Bevington Trust a registered charity?
Yes. The Bevington Trust is a registered charity (Charity No. 1179713). Because it is part of a registered charity, donations are eligible for tax savings – either through Gift Aid or Payroll Giving. This also means we can benefit from employer match funding schemes.
What is the purpose of the Bevington Trust?
The Bevington Trust exists to support Bevington Primary School in delivering its Knowledge Rich Curriculum and providing the very best learning opportunities for all pupils. It raises funds to supplement the school’s budget, ensuring we can maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and enrichment despite significant cuts to government funding.
How is the Bevington Trust different from the PTA?
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) sits within the Bevington Trust and organises events, sponsorships, and other fundraising activities. These often bring the school community together while raising money for projects. The Trust ensures that all funds raised are used strategically to support agreed priorities that will have the most impact on pupils’ education.
Who donates to the Bevington Trust?
Anyone can donate – current parents, alumni families, grandparents, friends of the school, local businesses, and even employers through matched giving schemes. Every donation, large or small, helps to support all children at Bevington Primary School.

What are the current fundraising priorities?
Our priorities for this year are:
-
Love of Reading Project – £20,000 to expand our library collections, phonics resources, and class reading sets.
-
Playground Development – £10,000 to improve outdoor learning spaces and play equipment.
-
Classroom Resources to Enhance the Foundation Curriculum – £8,000 for new, high-quality resources across foundation subjects.
How is the money used?

Why does Bevington Primary need additional funding?
The ongoing reduction in per-pupil government funding means schools must make very difficult choices. Without the Bevington Trust, we would have to scale back on specialist teaching, enrichment activities, and investment in resources that make our Knowledge Rich Curriculum so engaging and effective.
Does every family have to donate?
Donations are completely voluntary – but our aim is to achieve 100% participation from families, regardless of the amount. Every contribution makes a difference and benefits all children at Bevington.
