How do we ensure Safeguarding?
At Bevington Primary School, protecting pupils and promoting their welfare is a core responsibility shared by every adult in our school community – including staff, volunteers, and visitors.
All adults working in school have a legal duty to act in the best interests of children and take prompt action if there are any concerns about their safety or wellbeing.
What Happens if We Have a Concern?
If we believe that a pupil may be at risk of harm, has been harmed, or their welfare is in doubt, we will act immediately to safeguard them.
This could be triggered by:
-
Information shared by a pupil, parent, or third party
-
Behaviour that causes concern
-
Observations made by staff or volunteers
All concerns are passed directly to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The DSL may need to share information and work with other agencies. Wherever possible, parents or carers will be informed, unless doing so could place the child at greater risk.
